I began to paint when I was young. Early success, together with encouragement from my teachers (particularly Clive Perry and Randolf Flood) soon gave me the conviction that what I could do, I should do. The work of painters like Max Ernst and Andrew Wyeth; music; and most importantly, the group Yes and the work of Roger Dean, shaped my early development. Later, my work was guided by art directors David Howells, Tony James, Ray Rimell, Chris Gannon; fellow artist Andy Zermanski; and St. Martin's School of Art tutor, David Tindle. My sons Alan and David, often featured in my work, as did Rembrandt the now famous cat. Aircraft and science fiction/fantasy also form a considerable part of my output. Most of my paintings are now in private collections around the world.
