Paul Monteagle - Modelmaking

Modelling is for me the ‘Senior Service'. It has always been fun. I was seven when I first discovered Airfix kits. After building the Golden Hind, and many Spitfires, my future path was set. Not all the models I start are finished. Some, like the K(5) Railgun, will take a long time to complete.

Many of my paintings were based on models. Often these were made from a kit, or when no kit existed, I scratch-built the model. This was often the case when painting WW1 aircraft when I needed a 3D reference.

My figure models are based on childrens' or collectors' models, modified and re-painted so I might place them in crazy environments. The aircraft are 1:48 scale and the military models 1:35 scale plastic kits.
